Domaine Germain Père et Fils, Saint-Romain

Domaine Germain Père et Fils, Saint-Romain

Saint Romain is perhaps the most beautiful spot in the Côte de Beaune and the wines have become more sought after in recent years. Situated a few kilometres west of Meursault in an elevated and protected position, it has benefitted from rising temperatures and now makes impressive wines with greater concentration than in the past. The appellation was created in 1947 and has just 98 hectares under vine with the majority being white. Domaine Germain was created in 1955 and has 10ha in Saint Romain as well as a little Pommard and Beaune. A smart new winery was built at the top of the village in 2019 which has enabled greater control at harvest and in the cellar. Arnaud Germain leads the domaine today and has also developed his negoce label ‘Maison Arnaud Germain’.
